Mary is an accomplished leader in stakeholder relations, marketing and communications, and business development.

 

Prior to branching out on her own Mary held a number of senior leadership positions in the private, public and not‐for‐profit sectors with a career that spanned over 25 years. During that time Mary's work encompassed strategic planning, stakeholder relationship management, marketing & communications and fund development.

She has delivered effective results‐driven solutions for arts, higher education, healthcare organizations and municipalities including Arts BC, Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance (GVPTA), Dancers’ Studio West (DSW), Banff Centre, McGill University, the University of Calgary, Capilano University and the City of Kelowna.

Mary has a reputation for excellence. She is well known for cultivating strong relationships with her clients, vendors and strategic partners and for empowering others through an energetic and passionate leadership style.

Being a strong advocate for knowledge sharing and mentorship Mary is a former faculty member of London, Ontario’s Fanshawe College and is a sought after speaker.

Mary recently completed two years’ service as board director for the B.C. Alliance for Arts & Culture. She has previously been a board director for B.C.’s ArtStarts in Schools Society, Banff Heritage Tourism in Alberta and The ARTS Project in Ontario. During COVID-19 she served as an advisor with the Leadership Emergency Arts Network (LEAN). She is also an active member of Mass Culture, which works to support the dissemination of arts and culture research across Canada, sitting on its engagement committee.

In addition to a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from The DeGroote School of Business at Hamilton, Ontario’s McMaster University Mary holds a Master of Business Administration from York University’s Schulich School of Business, with a specialization in marketing.
